St. Agnes Catholic Church

Religious Education

Our religious education department is tasked with the formation of both children and adults. The department offers Sunday School for children and R.C.I.A. classes for adults.

Religious Education for Children

Religious Education for children is offered on Sunday mornings from 10am to 10:45am from September - April each year. Children require 2 years of Sacramental preparation to receive First Holy Communion, which is usually done when they are in 1st and 2nd grades. An additional two years of Sacramental preparation are required before receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in 7th and 8th grades.

Religious Education for Adults

The Rite of Christian Initiation (R.C.I.A) is our adult education program. It is the process by which an unbaptized person joins the Catholic Church or someone validly baptized in the Trinitarian formula comes into full communion with the Catholic Church. Catholics who were baptized but didn't receive First Holy Communion or Confirmation also attend R.C.I.A. to complete their Sacraments of Initiation.
